Your computer must be connected to a TCP/IP network for these examples to run. Once you have the TCP/IP mechanism working you can use it to connect two processes on the same computer so it is not really necessary to run the examples on two computers. Although the examples run on Windows 95, if you intend this kind of programming you should have Unix or Windows NT for your server software.

If you intend to work the exercises that involve the Tcl browser plugin, you will need to have installed version 2.0 or later.
